Terms of Service

1. The service

Folio is a document organisation and tracking tool for insurance policies. You upload policy documents; we extract structured fields and present them on a dashboard.

Important: Folio is not a licensed financial adviser. We do not provide insurance advice, coverage recommendations, product comparisons, or financial planning. The app is for record-keeping only. For advice, consult a financial adviser licensed under the Financial Advisers Act.

2. Your account

• You must be 18 or older and a resident of Singapore to use Folio.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
• You may only upload documents you have the legal right to upload.
• If you are an insurance agent uploading client documents, you must have explicit consent from each client to store their personal data in Folio.

3. Accuracy of extracted data

Folio uses automated extraction (OCR + AI) to read your documents. Extraction is accurate most of the time but not always. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting any extracted data before relying on it. We are not liable for decisions made based on incorrect or incomplete extractions.

4. Acceptable use

You may not:

• Upload content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes third-party rights
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass access controls
• Resell or sublicense the service without our written consent
• Use the service in any way that could harm Folio, its users, or third parties

5. Billing

• The free plan includes up to 2 policies. Paid plans unlock more features.
• Subscriptions are billed in advance via Stripe.
• You may cancel at any time; cancellations take effect at the end of the billing period.
• Prices may change with 30 days' notice.
• All prices are quoted in Singapore Dollars (SGD), inclusive of GST where applicable.

6. Data ownership

You own your documents and data. Folio holds a limited licence to store, process, and display your data solely to operate the service for you.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these terms (e.g. illegal use, non-payment after 30 days).

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Folio's aggregate liability to you is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the incident. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or loss-of-profit damages.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
